Repair
- I do most of my own repairs such as fixing flat tires, replacing brake pads, replacing chain, wrapping handlebars, installing brakes, replacing brake cables and lubing power train
- In the non-winter months I carry tools and extra spokes and tubes for long rides
- Keep old parts so you can
- Monitor the wear on current parts
- Take them to your local bicycle shop for a replacement
- Replace worn or lost parts e.g. brakes
- Repainting Winter Bike (back end only) because of rust on Oct 8-10, 2009

- Apply two complete coats of primer
- Turn bike over and add primer twice to areas that had the most rust
- Do underside first so the drips don't show
- Apply paint
- As of Feb 2011 the paint has held up well and I don't see any rust
